Is it actually possible that adf.ly got even more vile and intrusive than I knew it? Yes, apparently.

Man, I really would’ve liked those boots, but I’m not allowing notifications for this shady af website on my computer, thank you very much.

I hate that stupid notification pop up thing too, luckily I haven’t seen it for a while. *knocks wood just in case* My browser manages to skip over most of the adfly and such services, I only have these few related add-ons installed but I thought I’d list them just in case they might be useful for someone else too:

  • Universal Bypass (this is likely the most important one, skips almost everything, sometimes gets stuck and you have to hit back but overall I think it’s a really good one, I also have three different adfly skippers installed but none of them is turned on anymore since this does their job)
  • uBlock Origin (doesn’t skip anything but should keep worst ads away)
  • Skip shorte.st ads (could be obsolete since it hasn’t been updated for a while but I have it turned on and at least it’s not causing any problems)

Additionally:

  • Expand URL (you paste the adfly etc links here and it’ll show where they go to so it’s not an add-on but useful site, usually the long versions of the links seem to be more willing to just go forward than shortened ones)

I use Vivaldi Browser which is Chrome based so those links all go to Chrome’s store but I think there are also Firefox versions of them, at least the Universal Bypass has Firefox version too listed on their site
